Η Πλατεία Συντάγματος

ή πλατεία του Πλατάνου
ή απλώς Πλάτανος. Από τον
πλάτανο που καταλάμβανε
άλλοτε το μέσο της, κάτω από
την πλούσια σκιά του οποίου
αγόρευαν οι πολιτικοί άνδρες
του Έθνους. Τη συναντάμε στο
κέντρο του Ναυπλίου. Πρόκειται
για μια πλατεία περιτριγυρισμένη
από όμορφα καφέ και γραφικά
ταβερνάκια. H πλατεία του
πλατάνου περιστοιχίζεται από
ιστορικά κτίρια όπως
η παλιά
βουλή
,
το Ανάκτορο του πρώτου
Κυβερνήτη Ιωάννη Καποδίστρια,
τ
ο παλιό τζαμί,
την εκκλησία
του
Αγ. Γεωργίου
, και το Ενετικό
κτίριο της Αρμενίας που στεγάζει
σήμερα το
Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο
και έχει εκθέματα από κοντινούς
αρχαιολογικούς χώρους. Εδώ
βρίσκονταν και τα σπίτια των
περισσοτέρων οπλαρχηγών του
1821.
Η Εθνική Πινακοθήκη του Ναυπλίου
Λειτουργεί ως παράρτημα της Εθνικής
Πινακοθήκης. Από το 2004 στεγάζεται
σε ένα όμορφο νεοκλασικό του 1905. Η
υποδειγματική ανακαίνιση του κτιρίου
και ο μουσειολογικός εξοπλιστμός του
έγινε από το ίδρυμα «Αλέξανδρος Σ.
Ωνάσης». Κύριο θέμα των εκθεμάτων,
πινάκων και γλυπτών, είναι η ελληνική
επανάσταση.
O Nαό της Ευαγγελίστριας [2]
Τον συναντάμε στο συνοικισμό της
Πρόνοιας, σε ένα από τα ψηλότερα
σημεία του Ναυπλίου. Παλαιότερα
υπήρχε μικρό μοναστήρι στο σημείο,
ενώ ο σημερινός ναός είναι του 1975.
Νότια του ναού υπάρχει ένα μικρό
παρεκκλήσιο και μια αίθουσα με
ιστορικά και εκκλησιαστικά αντικείμενα.

Square or simply Platanos. It is named
after the plane tree which once occupied
the centre. The politicians of the nation
would make speeches under that tree. It
comprises the center of the city and is a
beautiful big square surrounded by quaint
cafés and tavernas. Syntagma Square is
lined by historic buildings like the old
par-
liament
, the
Palace of the first Governor
Ioannis Kapodistrias,
the
old mosque
, the
church of
Agios Georgios
, and the
ware-
house
of the fleet, which today houses the
archaeological museum
with exhibits from
nearby sites. The houses of several leaders
of 1821 are still preserved there.
The National Picture Gallery of Nafplio.
It represents an extension of the National
Gallery, and since 2004, it has been located
in a beautiful neoclassical building of 1905.
The exemplary renovation of the building
and the equipments were carried out by the
Foundation “Alexander S. Onassis”. The
main themes of the exhibits are paintings
and sculptures from the Greek revolution.
The Church of Evangelistria [2]
It is lo-
cated at one of the highest elevation of
Nafplio. Before the church was built in
1975, there was once a small monastery.
South of the temple is a small chapel and
a hall with historical and religious artifacts.

auch Plateia tou Platanou
oder schlicht “Platane”: Benannt
nach der Platane, die einstmals
in der Mitte des Platzes gestan-
den hat, und unter deren reichem
Schatten die Politiker der Nation
Reden gehalten hatten. Sie liegt
im Zentrum Nauplias und ist von
hübschen Cafés und malerischen,
kleinen Tavernen eingesäumt. Die
Plateia tou Platanou ist umgeben
von historischen Gebäuden, vom
alten
Parlament, dem Palast des
ersten Gouverneurs Ioannis Kapi-
distrias, der alten Moschee, der
Kirche Agios Georgios
(griech.:
Άγιος Γεώργιος – Heiliger
Georg), sowie dem Venezianischen
Munitionsgebäude, in dem heute
ein
Museum
mit wunderbaren Ex-
ponaten von Ausgrabungsstätten
aus der näheren Umgebung un-
tergebracht ist. Auch die meisten
der Anführer von 1821 hatten
ihre Häuser hier, die noch immer
gepflegt und erhalten werden.
Die Pinakothek von Nauplia
Sie stellt eine Erweiterung der
Nationalpinakothek dar, und
sie befindet sich seit dem Jahr
2004 in einem wunderschönen,
neoklassizistischen Haus aus
dem Jahr 1905. Die vorbildlich
durchgeführte Renovierung des
Gebäudes sowie die Ausstattung
der Pinakothek erfolgte durch die
Insitution «Alexandros S. Ona-
sis» (griech.: Αλέξανδρος Σ.
Ωνάσης). Das Hauptthema der
Exponate, Gemälde und Skulp-
turen stellt die griechische Revolu-
tion dar.
Die Kirche der Evangelistria [2]
Sie befindet sich in der Siedlung
Pronia, die auf einer der höchsten
Erhebungen bei Nauplia liegt. In
früheren Jahren stand dort einmal
ein kleines Kloster, die Kirche je-
doch wurde erst 1975 errichtet.
Südlich davon steht eine kleine
Kapelle, in deren Vorraum eine
beachtliche Sammlung an ge-
schichtlichen und kirchlichen Ob-
jekten ausgestellt ist.
