Ligourio (auch Lygurion), ein Ort mit etwa 3000
Einwohnern, ist wie ein Amphitheater an den
südlichen Fuß des Berges Agioi Taxiarches (griech.:
Άγιοι Ταξιάρχες – die heiligen Erzengel) gebaut.
Seine Lage ermöglicht einen wunderbaren Blick auf
das in Arkadien liegende Parnon-Gebirge (griech.:
Πάρνωνας – Parnonas). Beim Anblick der dichten
Obst- und Gemüsegärten und der Olivenhaine wird
sofort klar, dass die ganze Stärke dieser Umgebung
in ihrer Erde liegt, dass die Landwirtschaft eine große
Rolle spielt. Marmorbrüche und kleine Holz und Metall
verarbeitende Handwerksbetriebe sowie Keramikwerk-
stätten machen Ligourio zu einem Gebiet mit großer
wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung. Selbstverständlich sind die
Einwohner auch in der Touristikbranche tätig, denn
die direkte Nachbarschaft zum Heiligtum des Asklepios
sowie das jährlich stattfindende «Festival von Epidau-
ros» (griech.: Επιδαύρια) unterstützen die Entwick-
lung des Fremdenverkehrs ganz erheblich.

Αγροκτηνοτροφική περιοχή, με
κατάφυτα περιβόλια, μπαξέδες
και ελαιώνες είναι γνωστή για
το δυναμικό της χαρακτήρα.
Λατομεία εξόρυξης μαρμάρου και
βιοτεχνικές μονάδες κατεργασίας
ξύλου, σιδήρου και κεραμικών
καθιστούν την περιοχή σημαντικό
οικονομικό παράγοντα. Επίσης
η ενασχόληση με τον τουρισμό
αποτελεί μια από τις σημαντικές
δραστηριότητες των κατοίκων.

of about 3000. The area, where
people are mainly occupied in
agriculture and stock-raising, is
filled with verdant gardens, or-
chards and olive groves. Ligourio
has a strong presence in financial
life with its marble quarries and
small industries of wood, iron and
ceramic processing. One of the
main occupations of the inhabit-
ants is also tourism.

Το Λυγουριό απέχει από την Αθήνα 142
χλμ. Θα φτάσετε εκεί οδικώς, μέσω εθνικής
οδού Αθηνών - Κορίνθου, ακολουθώντας τη
σήμανση που υπάρχει στο ύψος του Ισθμού
με κατεύθυνση προς Επίδαυρο. Επιπλέον
εκτελούνται συχνά δρομολόγια ΚΤΕΛ από
Αθήνα (210.51.34.588) και από Ναύπλιο
(27520.27.323).
Lygourio is 142 km from Athens. You
will get there by car via highway Ath-
ens - Corinth, following the sign on the
height of the Isthmus towards Epidaurus.
Moreover there are frequent bus services
from Athens (210.51.34.588) and from
Nafplio (27520.27.323).

mit dem Auto anreisen, nehmen Sie die Autobahn
Athen – Korinth, verlassen Sie in Höhe des Kanals
von Korinth und fahren weiter in Richtung Epidauros.
Die KTEL (griech.: ΚΤΕΛ) unterhält eine regelmäßige
Verbindung nach Ligourio, sowohl von Athen (Tel.:
210 – 5 13 45 88) als auch von Nauplia (Tel.:
27520 – 2 73 23).
